We encourage everyone to be upfront and honest about sexual activity and any drug and/or alcohol use. This information is important in determining your STD risk and is also helpful in the event we need to make additional referrals for you.
Testing:

Lab Test:
Specimens are sent to the local Department of Public, the NC State Lab, and/or LabCorp for processing.
Confidentiality:
Your medical records are confidential. During the initial counseling session you will be asked to sign a consent form authorizing consent for NCAC, Inc. and Department of Public Health to use and disclose health to use and disclose your health/medical information for the purposes of treatment and health care operations.
Test Results:
We inform each client that test results are back within 10-14 days. You will receive a call from one of Health Educator's to schedule a time to meet with you to conduct a post-test counseling session. These sessions are designed to make sure you understand your results, have a plan of action, and receive the necessary referrals for treatment and/or care if necessary. Positive results may result additional contact from the Department of Public Health and/or a Disease Infection Specialist to coordinate treatment and/or care.
